Hwang makes fourth consecutive preseason start Nottingham lose to Leeds
South Korea national soccer team forward Hwang Eui-jo.
English Premier League (EPL) side Nottingham Forest's Hwang Eui-jo continued his push for a place in the squad as he started his fourth consecutive pre-season game.
Nottingham conceded two second-half goals in a 0-2 pre-season loss to Leeds United at the Pirelli Stadium in Burton upon Trent, Staffordshire, England, on Aug. 28.
After starting the game on the bench, Hwang came on as a substitute at the start of the second half and played the full 45 minutes.
This was his fourth consecutive preseason start. He scored a minute after coming on as a second-half substitute in the first preseason game against Notts County (4th Division) on April 16.
Since then, he has played in every preseason game against Valencia and Levante (both in Spain). However, in his last three games, he hasn't scored or provided an assist.
After joining Nottingham from Bordeaux (France) last summer, Hwang was immediately loaned out to Olympiakos (Greece). However, he was unable to get a chance to play for Olympiakos as he was pushed out of the starting lineup.
In January, Hwang signed a short-term loan deal with FC Seoul of the K League in the winter transfer window. In Seoul, Hwang found consistent playing time, scoring four goals and providing two assists in 18 games.
After improving his form in Seoul, 스포츠토토 Hwang returned to Nottingham last month at the end of a 30-day loan deal and is now in contention for the 2023-24 season.
Nottingham will play a series of pre-season games against top sides including PSV Eindhoven (Netherlands), Stade Rennes (France) and Frankfurt (Germany) before kicking off the new season on August 12 against Arsenal.
